Parc Debreuil

Just a stone's throw from the town centre and close to Melun's municipal greenhouses, Parc Debreuil is a small island of greenery ideal for walking, regulated fishing and sport.

The history of this park began with Charles Debreuil, its owner at the end of the 19th century, who planted it with plants from all over the world: chrysanthemums, water lilies and rare species of trees. He also kept roe deer, hinds in semi-liberty, angora rabbits, adult emus, chinchillas, etc.
Today, Parc Debreuil has a pond for fishing enthusiasts and a 17-stage fitness trail for sports enthusiasts.
The park also boasts a remarkable tree of exceptional size: an American black walnut with a circumference of 5 metres, a height of 23 metres and a canopy 27 metres long.
