A former rocky and sandy quarry, the Bois de l'Ormeteau is a natural area of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest (ZNIEFF), located to the south of the municipality of Seine-Port.
Comprising dry sandy soils, two lakes and wooded areas along the banks of the Seine, this area is home to numerous plant species that are not very common in the Paris region, as well as many rare animal species. The City of Paris, which owns most of the area, has entrusted its management to the Agence des Espaces Verts d'Ile-de-France.
And as you stroll across the plain, you'll come across the strange residents of the Domaine des îles: the Highland cows.
All year round.
Free access.
