These holiday homes, built along the river from 1830 to 1914, from Saint-Mammès to Seine-Port via Thomery, Samois-sur-Seine, Héricy, Livry-sur-Seine, Bois-le-Roi and Boissettes, belonged to industrialists and shopkeepers from Melun and, above all, Paris. With the arrival of the railway, they built these villas to spend their summers and weekends in the countryside, between forests and rivers.
