The vines, restored thanks to the work of volunteers from the Confrérie Saint-Vincent, are coming back to life after years of dormancy.
In Saint-Fargeau Ponthierry and all the surrounding communes, the vines produced a quality of wine (mainly white) that was much appreciated by our kings and their courts. The exposure of the vineyards on the slopes of the Seine must have contributed to this quality.
The Confrérie Saint-Vincent relies on the local vineyard (Chardonnay grape variety) to revive and promote the local heritage.
This traditionally farmed vine draws from the sandy-clay soil the essential qualities needed to produce a wine of great elegance, the Citanguet.
Come and meet our winegrowers every Saturday morning in their vineyards.
All year round, every Saturday between 10 am and 12 pm.
Free access.
